Until I was a teenager, I was an addicted hunter of wild game and trapper of wild birds, especially doves. Truth be told, I was an amateur hunter for a long time until I met a great mentor who spent time guiding and supporting me to become a skilful game hunter. His skills and expertise were a catalyst which enabled me to bring home extra game which fed my family, and the rest were sold to our neighbours and we used the money to pay school fees for my 13 siblings.


Herewith are 10 reasons why I gave up hunting at the top of my “profession” when I became a teenager:
